13 Popular DIY Starbucks Recipes - XO, Katie Rosario (2024)

How much do you spend on coffee every week? Or month? Or year? Is it more than you would like to admit?

Well the average American spends more than $80 on coffee every month. That’s a lot of money per year! Those $3-$4 drinks add up fast.

I have to admit I love my Starbucks I know exactly what I want and it tastes the same every single time I go.

Side note: I also repeat my order in my head more than enough times so I don’t slip at the counter, you know because we all do that right lol! Even more so when there’s a line and you don’t want to take up more time saying “ummm” trying to remember what you want! It’s the worst!

Back to it, for saving money I immediately started with my daily coffee trips. It hurt at first but my wallet and bank account IMMEDIATELY thanked me.

Now don’t get me wrong I didn’t cut out coffee altogether I just made my usual coffee order at home instead. I save so much more than money like time and gas/miles.

This also meant I didn’t have to bolt out of the house in the morning to accommodate the time spent waiting for my coffee.

Now I want to specify I don’t just drink straight black coffee, if I was I’m sure I would of saved a lot more way before now. I go for the frappuccinos, lemonades, lattes (which never turned out right at home until I recently cracked that code) and the easy grab and go food items.

I much more enjoy my coffee and feel way more accomplished by making it at home.

Honestly I still go every once in a while but it’s a rare treat now. I’ll go meet up with friends and make it a more social visit then just a quick run in and go.

It’s a much more enjoyable; some Starbucks even have a full menu with a table service, which is very cool!

I just wanted to give you a little insight that a coffee loving, Starbucks going girl can change her habits, so can you!

Note: I have tried out these recipes and use them regularly, some I have made a slight adjustment to more of my taste and Ill add those notes for you as well.

Let’s get to it coffee lovers!

Found from Eugenie Kitchen

One of the most popular drinks Starbucks makes and here is an easy to follow guide from Eugenie Kitchen. I like that they have xanthan gum as optional. Xanthan gum for those who have no idea what this is. It’s a powder used in milkshakes, ice cream and gluten free baking to hold that perfect texture. For example do you ever wonder why your milkshakes at home separate and split it’s because professional places use xanthan gum to keep the creamy ice texture longer for you to enjoy it.

Found from Mummy Musings

I do love these mini vanilla scones freshly baked but my favorite part is actually when they get to become stale after a few days. The reason I get excited is because I crush the scones up in the food processor add a little bit of butter and make a tart crust for a perfect tart. So I never worry when all these can’t be eaten fresh because I just turn it into a lemon tart for example. Yummy right!
