Four in 10 Brits fear their partner will steal their chocolate this Easter - with other halves topping the list of suspects swiping sweet treats. A suspicious 40% of Brits reckon their partners are behind any choccy subterfuge with the finger of suspicion then pointing at colleagues and friends who are in joint second place with 12%.
Housemates and parents were considered equally culpable of a sweet treat heist, with 7% believing them to be behind the disappearance of any chocolates. A survey by Mars revealed that 75% of folk would hide their sweet treats if they kept mysteriously vanishing.
The confectionery giant discovered that of those quizzed, 25% would stash their chocolate under the bed, with other top spots including the sock drawer (22%) and the garden shed (16%).

The laundry room and even a dressing gown pocket were places 13% of people would conceal their choccies, while 5% admitted to hiding treats under a fish tank.

Despite being a nation of inventive stashers, Mars is now attempting to make people's lives a little easier this Easter.
Maltesers and M&M'S have launched the Bunny Book Collection in partnership with The Traitors star and deception expert Minah Shannon.
The limited-edition books, including titles Jane Hare, The Great Gatsbunny and A Tail of Two Warrens, are designed to help adults get sneaky and secretly store sweet treats.
Celebrating 16 years of the iconic Maltesers Bunny and welcoming Maltesers Popcorn flavour Bunny and M&M’S Bunny to the Easter range, the launch leverages Minah's flair for misdirection and secrecy for a sweeter purpose.

Minah Shannon said: "We all know I’m no stranger to hiding in plain sight and that's why I'm lending my expertise to Maltesers and M&M'S.
"I'm always hiding my little sweet treats from family and friends, so the Bunny Books are the perfect way to keep my chocolate bunnies safe this Easter.
"Especially now they've launched the new Crispy M&M'S Bunnies and Maltesers Popcorn flavour."
Florence McGivern, Chief Easter Officer at Mars Wrigley UK&I, said: "When our research showed just how far Brits go to stash sweet treats, we wanted to hop in and offer everyone a clever way to keep their chocolate safe.
"Whether you're after a little treat for yourself or sharing the fun of a hidden treat with loved ones, our Maltesers Bunnies and M&M’S Bunnies are the perfect treat for little moments of joy and indulgence this Easter."
